Snetterton 13th October

Following changes made after Brands Hatch, i.e. new cooler spark plugs, was hoping for a good showing at Snetterton, managed a 1.21 last time in qualifying...

Only managed 5 laps in qualifying as the car was running very badly, couldn't see very much wrong. Looked at first like we were burning oil, as the Clio guys thought it was puffing blue smoke on start up, suggesting a valve guide seal or similar.

Race 1:
Managed 8 laps and then came into the pits, still running bad, kept stuttering on low revs and was only running well once turbo was on full boost.... still managed to get classified - good job really as I had elected to play my joker - last meeting of the season so had to play it anyway. Plugs 1 and 4 were getting very black.

Race 2:
Had a new set of plugs fitted and checked engine map - all seemed OK, had a good dice with Simon in Pongo, was very slow out of corners and very fast on the straights, even managed a "Royal Wave" at one point as I went past - cheeky I know.... managed 7 laps and ran out of fuel.. 35 litres lasted about 12 minutes.

Investigated problem when we got back - dodgy fuel pressure regulator, fitted a new one - works fine now.
